Narrative
BUFFALO COUNTY, NE – Two people were hospitalized following a rear-end crash that caused two vehicles to overturn off U.S. Highway 30 near Shelton.
First responders were called to the scene at the intersection with Wiseman Road, just east of Shelton, at about 6:15 a.m.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Department, a Chevy Silverado was heading westbound on US-30 when it was hit from the back by a Jeep Limited. The impact caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles, which were sent into a ditch where they overturned.
The driver of the Silverado, a 70-year-old Grand Island man, was thrown from his vehicle. He and the other driver, a 23-year-old Kearny man, were both rushed to CHI Health Good Samaritan for unspecified injuries.
Officials said neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
No charges or citations have been confirmed at this time, but an investigation remains underway.
