Narrative
OMAHA, NE – Injuries have been reported in connection to a two-vehicle hit-and-run collision that happened late last month in Omaha.
Shortly after 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th, emergency crews responded to a major accident at South 31st Avenue and Jackson Street in the Leavenworth neighborhood.
Police say that a westbound 2010 Hyundai Elantra collided with a southbound 2017 Hyundai Elantra when the driver of the former vehicle failed to heed a stop sign.
The driver of the 2010 Elantra fled the scene on foot, leaving behind an injured passenger.
Medics transported both the driver of the 2017 Elantra and the passenger from the 2010 Elantra to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Anyone with information or tips to share regarding the missing driver can contact the Omaha Police Department, as the investigation continues.
