LANCASTER COUNTY, NE – Three people were injured as a result of a multi-vehicle collision Thursday, May 23, on L Street in Lincoln.
The accident took place at the intersection with South 40th Street, near Calvary Cemetery.
Preliminary details indicated a woman from Crete was driving westbound on L Street when she ran a stop sign, failing to yield the right-of-way. Moments later, a northbound vehicle struck her car, causing it to strike a southbound vehicle.
Lincoln Police said the Crete woman suffered serious injuries, and her passenger, along with the driver of the southbound car, sustained minor injuries. All three were transported to an area hospital.
No injuries to the northbound driver were reported.
All three vehicles were totaled in the wreck, resulting in at least $34,000 in damages.
Following the incident, the Crete woman received a citation for her role in the incident.
