The incident occurred at the corner of 48th Street and Claire Avenue, at about 7:45 a.m.
Investigators said a car failed to yield the right-of-way, causing a crash with a box truck that was traveling southbound. The truck ended up sliding through the intersection and striking the girl, who was waiting at the crosswalk.
First responders transported the child to a local hospital for a minor leg injury.
