Narrative
STANTON COUNTY, NE – A two-vehicle collision Friday morning, August 9, in rural Stanton County sent two people to the hospital.
The accident happened on State Highway 15 at the junction with Highway 32, near Stanton. It was first reported at about 8:30 a.m.
The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said a 73-year-old driver and their passenger were traveling southbound in a car on Highway 15. At one point, a westbound van traveled into the car’s path, causing a crash that pushed both vehicles onto eastbound Highway 32.
Emergency crews had to extricate the 73-year-old driver from the car. The patient was then transported, along with their passenger, to an area hospital where both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
While three people from the van received treatment from paramedics at the scene, no one else was taken to the hospital.
Officials said both vehicles were totaled in the wreck. No other information regarding potential charges or citations has been shared.
